PREVIEW PARTY AT CIVIL RIGHTS INSTITUTE AUGUST 7

 

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – July 24, 2013 – The fourth annual Birmingham Restaurant Week (BRW) presented by Regions Bank will celebrate its launch at the BRW 2013 Preview Party sponsored by Alagasco and the City of Birmingham. The event will be held Wednesday, Aug.7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Chefs from eight participating restaurants will serve samples of their most popular BRW menu items at the event, which will benefit the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute’s educational and outreach initiatives.

COST:            Individuals: $25 in advance/$30 at the door

Couples: $40 in advance/$45 at the door

“We are so excited to have this year’s Birmingham Restaurant Week Preview Party at Birmingham’s Civil Rights Institute,” said James Little, BRW director and district manager of REV Birmingham. “The atmosphere will be fun, and the food will be great. We hope people will come and enjoy a taste of the great food Birmingham restaurants have to offer. And, during this 50th Anniversary celebration of Birmingham’s civil rights struggle, we can think of no better place to host this event.”

Preview Party attendees will get a sneak peek and taste of various BRW menu items offered from Silvertron Café, VINO, Ted’s Restaurant, Michael’s Restaurant, La Paz, Rusty’s Bar-B-Q, JoJo’s on Boradway and Dreamland Bar-B-Que.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance here and are $25 for individuals and $40 for couples. Tickets bought the night of the event will be $30 for individuals and $45 for couples. Price of admission includes food, entertainment, complimentary beverages from Rush Wines, Good People Brewing Company and Smirnoff plus entrance to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.

Organized by REV Birmingham and presented by Regions Bank, BRW 2013 will take place Friday, Aug. 16 through Sunday, Aug. 25 and will offer incentives for diners to revisit their favorite restaurants or to experience new venues for the first time. Approximately 40 locally owned restaurants throughout the Birmingham area will offer food and drink specials including two and/or prix-fixe lunch and/or dinner menus in the $5, $10, $15, $20 and $30 per person range.  The goal for BRW 2013 is to celebrate Birmingham’s culinary culture while filling the seats of the city’s eating and drinking establishment
