Environmental services and specialty transportation company Action Resources will soon move its headquarters, subsidiary company and Executive Management team to downtown Birmingham’s Paramount Building (located in the City Center Building at the corner of 20th Street and 2nd Avenue North).

The Birmingham City Council approved incentives today in the amount of $10,000 a year for five years ($50,000) to assist the Hanceville-based company with business expenses. Per a cost-benefit analysis by city officials, new revenues to the City over the same period will amount to almost $200,000. REV Birmingham facilitated the application, evaluation and award of the incentive.

“We’re excited about moving Downtown, the growth of our business and the revitalization of this area. From a recruiting and retention perspective, it puts us in a great spot to attract young professionals in the community, people who want to live, work and play in the Magic City in general,” said Action Resources CEO Dean Flint. “Birmingham is really coming back to life, which ultimately presents a great opportunity for our company moving forward.”

Dean notes Action Resources has grown 30% in the last five years. The company will initially locate 30-40 employees in the downtown location and expects to grow to 75 employees in the next two years. The relocation will be two-fold, bringing both the Action Resources Corporate headquarters and the subsidiary ARI Logistics Central Alabama Branch to Birmingham’s City Center.

Action Resources provides transportation services of Specialty Chemicals and hazardous Waste throughout the U.S. and Canada. Founded in 1995, Action Resources operates in 25 locations throughout the Gulf Coast region and has more than 1000 employees. Action Resources is a certified Minority Business Enterprise.
