We’re constantly working to help Birmingham startups make the transition from conceptualization to CREATION as easy as possible. And pop-up showcases are a cool way to embed starters into the community, build their audiences and position them for sustainable success. It’s also a chance for YOU to see, touch, and – in this case – TASTE what sought after goods and creations are on the Magic City horizon.
That’s why you should check out Restaurant Takeover next Tuesday, June 23rd from 5PM-8PM!
CO.STARTERS grads Zebbie Carney and Theresa Runmore will be showcasing their delicious fares at a this pop-up takeover of Tracy’s Restaurant, located at 75 Church Street in Crestline.
Have a taste of the Tennessee-inspired, up-and-coming, Birmingham original – Eugene’s Hot Chicken. Then cool the burn with locally-sourced, handcrafted flavors of delicious artisan ice cream sandwiches by Pixie Ice Cream Company. (They’re made with macaron cookies, y’all!)
You may recognize Zebbie of Eugene’s Hot Chicken from his debut at the Big Pitch in 2014, but both he and Theresa have been developing their concepts for much longer. When the owners enrolled into CO.STARTERS last January, their ideas took off. They gained essential knowledge, relationships, and resources to take their business concepts to the next level.
Zebbie believes Birmingham is long-overdue for a “hot chicken” restaurant, and he is determined to bring the irresistible heat to the Magic City through Eugene’s Hot Chicken.
Through Pixie Ice Cream Co., Theresa wants to recreate the experience of an old-time, neighborhood ice cream parlor.
We are so proud of our CO.STARTERS grads and Tuesday night will be a huge step on their way toward becoming permanent fixtures of the Birmingham food landscape. Come out and show your support for Zebbie and Theresa!
We’ll see you at Tracy’s next Tuesday!
