The first completed Five Points South project of 2017 is in the books! The Homewood Suites by Hilton, located at 1016 20th Street South, is a huge investment in Southside… more than $23 million dollars worth! Developed by Wyatt Construction and owned by AUM Enterprise, the hotel offers 105 new suites, and easy access to local attractions for guests to enjoy.
“Last year, Birmingham had a significant impact on Alabama’s tourism sector, accounting for 20 percent of the state’s overall visitation,” said Adrian Kurre, global head, Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites by Hilton. “The continued growth of the city, coupled with downtown’s booming center, provides the ideal opportunity to expand Homewood Suites’ offering for both business and leisure travelers to the area.”
We’re excited for the vibrancy and foot traffic this new business will bring to the Five Points South neighborhood. REV is working with stakeholders on strategies for leveraging this, and other investments, for even more growth in the future!
