Secret Stages Music Discovery Festival (the 7th annual event) is happening this weekend, Friday, August 4th and Saturday, August 5th! If you’re excited about music discovery, this is your chance to find your favorite new band. The Bitter Southerner said: “If you want to find the unheard sounds of young, Southern musicians, the best place to do it these days is Birmingham’s annual Secret Stages Festival.”
Here is a Festival Schedule that allows you to customize and make your own online/mobile schedule. You can listen to songs by each artist to get a feel for what to expect. Check out this festival sampler on Bandcamp too! If you want to buy tickets early, head here to get the goods! (FYI – ticket prices increase on Friday.)
At REV, we also love seeing the added vibrancy on the street as patrons enjoy outdoor dining in our beautiful city. As indoor dining reopens, cities across the country are realizing that ending expanded outdoor dining could mean leaving money on the table.
Although the Greyhound Bus Terminal was renovated in the ’70s, many original elements of the building remained and have now been become historic highlights in the present-day adaptive reuse project. Join us on a photo tour of the historic space!
This is obviously good for downtown… but why *exactly*? Here’s REV President & CEO David Fleming’s take on what the move means for downtown Birmingham’s place in the world now and in the future.
