POP-UPS at SIDEWALK

REV-PUASFlyerREV BIRMINGHAM’S POP-UPS at SIDEWALK Brings the Streets to Life with Pop-Up Retail from August 22-24

REV Birmingham and the Sidewalk Film Festival are proud to announce eight pop-up businesses that will activate storefronts and create a unique pop-up retail experience during REV BIRMINGHAM’S POP-UPS @ SIDEWALK, a three-day venture to build community engagement during the 16th Annual Sidewalk Film Festival weekend.

August 22-24, organizers will activate numerous spaces on the 1800 block of 3rd Avenue North with pop-up food and retail shops that showcase the best of Birmingham’s local entrepreneur, craft and culinary community.

“More than 10,000 visitors are expected to pour into Birmingham’s Theater District for this year’s festival,” said REV City Center Team Lead Robert Emerick. “Sidewalk has drawn national attention to the Magic City for years and is recognized as one of the nation’s finest film festivals. REV BIRMINGHAM’S POP-UPS @ SIDEWALK is our chance to enhance that experience by giving folks a glimpse of some of the other elements that make Birmingham cool.”

Last month, sponsored by PNC, REV BIRMINGHAM’S POP-UPS @ SIDEWALK accepted proposals from local artists, entrepreneurs and existing businesses. Participants will include Yellowhammer Creative, Ono Ice, Magic City Sweet Italian Ice, Earthstone Soap Co., The Southern Letterpress, Piper & Leaf Artisan Tea Co., Bon Temps (a new concept by the owners of NOLA Ice), Little Forest and Baking Bandits.

In addition to pop-ups and food truck options (NEWKS, Ferocious Dogs, NOLA Ice and Cantina), some of Birmingham’s most popular catering companies will be on hand at the Whitmire Building (located at the corner of 3rd Ave N and 19th St.) with culinary offerings for hungry festival goers. Tres Luna Catering will host a ticketed, seated white table cloth dinner Friday evening; B&A Warehouse will provide its unique, fun brand of “grab and go” on Saturday; and Corretti Catering will be on hand Sunday to give folks a taste of what may be available when their newly renovated restaurant and event center opens later this Fall at the historic Florentine Building (on 2nd Ave N.).
