Tre Luna Catering Co. will be hosting a special, pop-up dinner Friday, August 22nd for the opening night of Sidewalk Film Festival. This fine dining experience is one time only and will be in the heart of all the Sidewalk festivities across from the Alabama Theatre in the Whitmire Building. Whether you’re already planning on coming to the festival or just want to be near the action, Tre Luna’s Fine Dining @ Sidewalk should not be missed! The delicious meal will include all your southern favorites like gulf shrimp, sweet corn souffle and peach ice cream plus a lot more. The Baking Bandits is a special event bakery that was born out of a love of people and the joy that a freshly baked treat can bring to someone’s day. Today they serve up a large selection of delicious shortbreads, tarts, brownies, scones and more to the city of Birmingham. The original bandits are Kristen Farmer Hall and her young daughters, Emma and Eleanor.
Inspired by the same vision that conceived Nola Ice (when founder Kelli Caulfield’s search for a “real” New Orleans sno-ball in Birmingham led to her opening an authentic mobile snoball shop), Bon Temps was developed based on that same need for New Orleans cuisine (and the fact that she really, really wanted a good po’boy). Bon Temps will truly bring a taste of New Orleans to the Magic City.
Earthstone Soap Co.
Earthstone Soap is a family-owned company with soap making skills and knowledge passed down for three generations. Earthstone Soap specializes in handcrafted soaps and skincare products made with pure vegetable oils as well as essential and skin-safe fragrance oils. In addition, Earthstone Soap offers unique products such as bath fizzies, sugar scrubs,and lip balms to enhance the bath experience for skin care enthusiasts everywhere.
Inspired by childhood adventures in Southern Appalachia, Little Forest invites you to be transported from the urban mundane to a magical little world of natural beauty, Southern lore, and forgotten places. Little Forest’s handmade crafts, local art, sustainably constructed furniture, and gifts from the land all tell a story of place and connection. Little Forest welcomes you to visit their forest, sit for a spell, and listen to the stories of a place we call home.
Magic City Sweet Ice
Magic City Sweet Ice is an Italian ice business dedicated to bringing value to the community by serving up high quality frozen treats to the people of Birmingham. Magic City Sweet Ice offers a variety of mouthwatering fruit-flavored Italian ices that are smooth and creamy like ice cream, but are also fat-free, dairy-free, cholesterol-free, gluten-free, and contain no high fructose corn syrup.
Ono Ice is a pop-up shave ice stand that has been circulating through Birmingham for the past 2 years serving up fine-textured, hand-shaved, soft as snow ice made with all natural, fresh ingredients. Ono Ice offers a variety of flavors that are innovative like their Vietnamese Iced Coffee as well as familiar favorites like Tiger’s Blood. Special to the Sidewalk weekend, Ono Ice will also add a selection of ice desserts from around the globe to their menu. In Hawaiian, the word “ono” means delicious and Ono Ice aims to live up to that name!
The Southern Letterpress
The Southern Letterpress offers letterpress printing and design services, as well as classes and public workshops. The Southern Letterpress makes letterpress accessible and affordable to the community by specializing in personalized printing with handset type from their collection of antique wood and lead typefaces. In addition to their personalized letterpresses, the Southern Letterpress has a large curated collection of letterpress-printed goods, from posters to broadsides to greeting cards all available for purchase.
Piper & Leaf
Piper & Leaf is a family run local artisan tea company whose passion is creating gourmet blends that are simply divine to sip iced on a steamy summer night, or hot on a long winter evening. All of Piper & Leaf’s teas are blended with as many local ingredients as possible, straight from the garden, farm, forest, and briar patch.
Yellowhammer Creative is Birmingham, Alabama’s only full service print house. Located at 3917 2nd Avenue South in the Avondale neighborhood of Birmingham, Yellowhammer Creative offers a wide range of services from design to producing high-quality, screen printed goods such as posters, invitations and t-shirts.
Corretti Catering is one of Birmingham’s most respected upscale catering businesses. Corretti Catering has been around for almost a decade under the care of owner Rebecca Corretti, who is also the owner of the Florentine Building and former owner of the Carraway-Davie facility. Corretti Catering will be on hand during the festival on Sunday, August 24th to give folks a taste of what may be available when their newly renovated restaurant and event center opens later this Fall at the historic Florentine Building (on 2nd Ave N.).
B&A Warehouse is a full service catering and event venue located in the heart of the historic warehouse and transportation district of downtown Birmingham. As part of our pop-ups, B&A Warehouse will provide its unique, fun brand of “grab and go” meals and snacks during the festival on Saturday, August 23rd.
