REV Birmingham kicks off its new city living program – LIV Birmingham — with the inaugural Cool Spaces + Downtown Places Loft Tours on Saturday, May 11th from 1:00pm – 5:00pm in Downtown’s Loft District. The Cool Spaces walking tour is a public guide through Downtown City Center’s coolest live + work + play spaces. The event serves as a fundraiser for LIV, with proceeds also benefiting CAP (City Action Partnership).

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Loft sites include: A.C. Legg Building, Gallery Lofts, The Lyric Theatre, Kinetic Communications, Rhodes Carroll Lofts, Watts Tower, Dog Days of Birmingham and more. Cool Spaces will also be hosted in conjunction with a sidewalk sale by 2nd Avenue merchants and surrounding businesses to raise money for streetscape improvements.

“LIV Birmingham will be THE source for Birmingham City Living,” said Laura Kate Whitney, LIV Birmingham Coordinator. “We’re educating Birmingham’s business community, homebuyers, renters, even realtors about the exciting residential opportunities within this city.”

LIV Birmingham is REV’s latest program engineered to create density and renew vibrancy in Birmingham neighborhoods by aggressively promoting them as THE places to live, learn, work and play. Modeled on similar programs in Baltimore, Detroit and Philadelphia, LIV Birmingham answers the call of plans like Blueprint Birmingham and Birmingham’s Comprehensive Plan to improve public perception about city living and foster positive relationships among the region’s residents and businesses. The program will aggressively market the city’s historic neighborhoods with a strategic focus on creating residential infill through recruitment and home ownership. LIV will also tout the benefits of city living, as well as the many LIVable amenities found within the Magic City.
