Due to popular demand, the event will return to Woodlawn’s 55th Place on April 11th from 10a.m.- 4p.m. Vendor applications are being accepted from now until March 20th.
Organizers host the Woodlawn Street Market once every quarter and market it as an opportunity for artists, merchants and aspiring business owners to showcase their products for a low-expense, and a chance for local community members to enjoy the renewed energy and excitement that’s taking place in Woodlawn.
“We asked and the community responded” said REV Birmingham District Lead Brian Gunn, “We saw an overwhelming response from local and surrounding residents and vendors in 2014; which is why we now offer the Woodlawn Street Market as a quarterly experience. We’re really enthused to see the exciting energy and contributions our vendors will bring to the table this Spring.”
June 2014 marked the launch of the first-ever Woodlawn Street Market. Organizers coordinated the event as a pilot to showcase Birmingham’s thriving market for local artists, crafters, merchants and retailers to members of the historic Woodlawn community. More than 500 shoppers poured into the area to shop with more than 30 vendors. Merchants represented a wide selection of fresh produce, one-of-a-kind wares, cooked cuisine, retail booths, crafts, local fashion, specialty goods and more.
REV Birmingham and the Woodlawn Business Association aim to create an atmosphere that champions community, increased pedestrian level activity, and in the Heart of Woodlawn.

Community partners of the event include Communicating Vessels, Woodlawn United, 2threefive and Substrate Radio. In addition to local vendors, the March 20th Woodlawn Street Market will also feature a Kids Zone and other interactive components for attendees to enjoy.
