September Woodlawn Street Market fills block with food & fun finds

With nearly 70 vendors participating, the September 23 Woodlawn Street Market filled the 55th Place block. If you didn’t make it out in September, here’s a video recap of what you missed.

The market, organized by Woodlawn Business Association and REV Birmingham, continues to serve as a launching pad for up-and-coming startups in the Woodlawn community and beyond. Testing and tweaking concepts is an important step for Birmingham entrepreneurs before they move their business toward brick and mortar. For example, Chef Kimberly  Brock participated in several Woodlawn Street Markets and Create Birmingham’s CO.STARTERS before opening her restaurant Bitty’s Living Kitchen in REV Birmingham’s REVeal Kitchen, a culinary business accelerator in The Pizitz Food Hall.

The last Woodlawn Street Market of 2017 will be December 2, 2017.

Woodlawn Street Market community partners include Communicating Vessels, Woodlawn United, Dream Center, Imperial Formal Wear and Woodlawn United Methodist Church.
