CO.STARTERS grad SmallBox Company is excited to announce its newest SmallBox at Railroad Park! This week, Brigelle Oden opened Wolf and Rose Boutique at the corner of 14th Street and 1st Avenue South, just a few feet away from Birmingham Candy Company (owned by Wayne and Cassie Bolden, who also happen to be prior Woodlawn Street Market vendors). Wolf and Rose will offer women’s clothing and accessories. An official grand opening is planned for early October.
Brigelle started Frou Frou Boutique seven years ago as an online business, which she then transitioned into a mobile boutique truck. After building a solid customer base, the Alabaster resident began looking for permanent locations. Two years ago, she opened Frou Frou Boutique in Alabaster. She has been following the growth downtown and became interested in expanding her business into a new market. Wolf and Rose gives her just what she was looking for.
“I was so excited when I heard about SmallBox Co. and the whole concept behind it,” Brigelle says. “Since Birmingham has been growing I have always wondered what could happen if I put a shop there. I was afraid to take such a big leap. That’s why SmallBox was perfect to test my idea, and Wolf and Rose was born. A casual boutique with a little something for everyone.”
Wolf and Rose’s hours:
- Tuesday through Friday – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday – 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Monday – closed
SmallBox Company converts shipping containers into small, well-designed retail spaces and offers them for short-term leases. SmallBox was created to spur growth within the start-up community in Birmingham by building Small Spaces for Big Ideas.
