Although our team is small, they are mighty! Each and every member plays an integral part in carrying out our mission. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be introducing each team member so that you can get a better look into who they are both inside and outside of the office. This week we are introducing Elizabeth Barbaree-Tasker, our Chief Operating & Finance Officer! Elizabeth provides the leadership needed to manage the flow of funds and administrative support to carry out all of REV’s programs and projects. She also plays an integral role in REV’s catalytic development efforts, strategizing partnerships and funding to make historic districts more vibrant!

REV Birmingham is a long-time advocate for making the switch to two-way streets downtown, and this is something recommended by planners studying our downtown for years. In fact, the team that developed the 2004 City Center Master Plan recommended many street changes but noted 4th Avenue North conversion should take place “immediately.” We believe this project is a catalytic moment for Birmingham – but you may find yourself wondering why that is.

The Rainbow Viaduct, one of Birmingham’s oldest bridges, has been transporting people between the south and north sides of downtown for more than 130 years! Now as we look toward its future, you’ll see a pilot project on the bridge to make it more pedestrian and cyclist friendly while we determine the best next steps.
