September 5th marked a milestone in the Re-vision Linn Park planning process: a drafted concept was revealed based on the feedback of Birmingham community members. This third community meeting was also an opportunity for the project consultant team to share insight into the vision for Linn Park, report to the community on emerging themes of a renewed park identity, and next steps in this process. If you were not at the meeting, no worries. You can view the park concepts, and send in your feedback to the consultant team today!

We’ve made it to the third and final public workshop for Re-vision Linn Park! Partners behind Re-Vision Linn Park will wrap up the community engagement process at the last public workshop on Tuesday, October 4, at Boutwell Auditorium. Community members can participate and provide feedback on a park design concept in the noon or 5:30 p.m. session – so come out one last time and let your voice be heard!

The Big Pitch contestants: where are they now?

If you’ve been following REV for a while, you probably remember The Big Pitch Competitions we used to hold back in the day. The Big Pitch presented by PNC was essentially our own little version of Shark Tank. And a lot of your favorite local businesses that participated in this competition now have active retail storefronts that you can go check out. Downtown Birmingham's latest development is proof that small buildings can have big impacts too!

Have you been to Downtown Birmingham’s newest development located on 25th Street? If not, you need to head down there ASAP and check it out! This new single story development is a product of a collaboration between David Baker Architects (DBA) and Locke General Contractors, led by DBA’s very own Amanda Loper. It is intended to be a “collaborative commercial space in a catalyst development area of Birmingham.” Both DBA and Locke General Contractors will be tenants of the space, along with June Coffee Roasters, Zephyr Barber, and Last Call Baking Cooperative!

Thrive Wellness Lounge is a plant-based health and wellness store in the heart of Woodlawn owned by Tish Fletcher (a veteran Woodlawn Street Market vendor – whoop whoop)! You can swing by and check out Woodlawn’s newest addition on Tuesday – Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. It’s always a good time to support a female, black-owned local business! Rev Birmingham wins 4 Main Street Alabama awards for 2021 projects

Main Street Alabama recently celebrated local program successes at the ninth annual Awards of Excellence. REV Birmingham has been a Main Street organization since before we were REV. If you’ve ever browsed any of our history page, you might already know that REV was formed in 2012 as a strategic merger of Main Street Birmingham and Operation New Birmingham – and we’re happy to still be working toward a more vibrant city every day, project by project! Activating the streets of downtown Birmingham with talent from all over the Magic City

We have talent from all over The Magic City come out on Friday evenings from 4-6 p.m. and put on performances for the public to enjoy.
