> What do you like to do in your free time in the Magic City?

I wouldn’t say I have free time, but it’s by choice; I like to keep busy. I am an “artivist” (artist + activist). I am either at Red Mountain Theatre performing in their shows and teaching students or working on my passion project, The Modern Green Book, where I connect consumers to Black-owned businesses and creatives through a re-imagined Green Book, events, and programming!

> Where is your favorite place to eat in Birmingham?

As an avid foodie, this question is extremely hard, so I will go with something sentimental. Yo Mama’s continues to be a go-to spot for me. When I was in college, they always catered the Black Alumni Tent at tailgates, and they supported our Black Student Union, providing us with meals for our events and meetings. However, Yo Mama’s has a special place in my heart because it is where my boyfriend took me on our first date, and it’s still our go-to lunch spot!
