Woodlawn is thriving with new businesses!

We’re so excited to welcome yet another new business to the Woodlawn Community! Thrive Wellness Lounge is a plant-based health and wellness store in the heart of Woodlawn owned by Tish Fletcher (a veteran Woodlawn Street Market vendor – whoop whoop)! You can swing by and check out Woodlawn’s newest addition on Tuesday – Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. It’s always a good time to support a female, black-owned local business! Rev Birmingham wins 4 Main Street Alabama awards for 2021 projects

Main Street Alabama recently celebrated local program successes at the ninth annual Awards of Excellence. REV Birmingham has been a Main Street organization since before we were REV. If you’ve ever browsed any of our history page, you might already know that REV was formed in 2012 as a strategic merger of Main Street Birmingham and Operation New Birmingham – and we’re happy to still be working toward a more vibrant city every day, project by project! Activating the streets of downtown Birmingham with talent from all over the Magic City

We are Live on 20th folks! Have you been downtown and checked out our busker performances yet? If not, you’re seriously missing out! We have talent from all over The Magic City come out on Friday evenings from 4-6 p.m. and put on performances for the public to enjoy. Performances take place at the corner of 20th Street and 3rd Avenue North. Next time you’re heading home after a long day at the office or on your way to dinner, stop by and check it out! Partners behind Re-Vision Linn Park hosted the first of three public workshops and a digital survey that gathered feedback from community members and leaders about reactivating the park. 227 community participants gave their input and ideas which amounted to 2,230 votes and comments combined. Birmingham is celebrating the restoration of the A.G. Gaston Motel, a historic landmark in the Civil Rights District. The building’s restoration has been a long time coming, and it’s a gift for Birmingham to have the preserved motel be a place where people can visit and learn. Congratulations to all the people from the City of Birmingham, the federal government and the community who labored to restore this treasure for many more generations to experience and enjoy.
